This is a great coffee grinder. I used a blade grinder for years, but it was inadequate for grinding the beans I used in my coffee press. Now I get perfectly ground coffee every time.

This grinder seemed to work smoothly for about 4 months. They make this a difficult feat. About a month ago, however, it began to take more cycles to grind a serving of beans. I tried contacting Breville customer service. Now the grinder takes forever to grind beans and the grinder is getting hot and smoking.I hope to send it back. Not impressed for being only 5 months old.
I love that it's fast and quiet. The ground coffee cup empties more easily (less coffee sticking) than most.Very easy to change the grind. Pretty good capacity.I don't know what else someone would want in a grinder for home use.Many of the parts are plastic, but except for the lid on the ground coffee catcher (which seems a little flimsy - but adequate), they're pretty heavy duty plastic.
This grinder does the job fine, but it's always rather warm, which means it's sucking a fair amount electricity even when not in use. I leave it unplugged when I'm not grinding.The lid hinges on the grind basket are flimsy and I expect I'll break them one day.
